Scope
Drone detection and disruption: Rohde & Schwarz ARDRONIS systems in trailer and SUV configurations
Qatar's CRA manages the National Monitoring Centre responsible for protecting Qatar's airspace and communications environment. As the country prepared to host major national and international events, the threat posed by unauthorised commercial drones to public safety became a critical operational concern. The CRA needed a system capable of detection, classification, geolocation, and disruption, with both fixed and mobile deployment options.
Integration with existing CRA infrastructure under Main Contract CRA-2018-024.
Dual deployment: trailer-mounted and SUV-transportable configurations.
Rohde & Schwarz ARDRONIS-D (detection) and ARDRONIS-R (disruption/jamming).
SUV vehicle modifications and fittings for safe storage and transportation.
The delivered solution gives the client a complete counter-drone capability, combining detection and disruption in both a fixed installation and a mobile, field-deployable configuration.
The CRA's enhanced counter-drone capability provided protection for major national events, detecting and classifying drone activity at distances of up to 5 kilometres. The dual-configuration approach (trailer and SUV) provides the operational flexibility to protect both fixed locations and mobile operations.
